lyre bird and the Goddess of Spring

The thing that gets me wondering is that artists recycle the sounds of our environment. Here, the Lyre bird is mimicking the sound of the chainsaw that is decimating its habitat. In other words, the bird is singing its own swan song. Are we doing the same thing?

Dedication to Sandy West- Drummer for the Runaways

In the mid to late Seventies there was a lot of great underground music in LA. The Runaways was a girl band that really worked. Joan Jett went on to become famous, But the Drummer Sandy West started the band with Joan and there is a story about her in the LA WEEKLY. Sandy West was a great drummer and a cool spirit.

Wedding drumming fullmoon sailboat dolphin cruise

I had a wonderful Sunday on the Gulf in St. Pete marrying Ralph and Linda, a sweet couple. They wrote their own ceremony ( I added a few things as the minister) then we drummed and the dolphins CAME around the boat! They stayed for a long time, I even heard them singing as we gently drummed. This was a major event for all of us. Thank-you for asking me to be the drumming minister at your wedding Ralph and Linda!
