Hippie Delayed Stress

Hippie Delayed Stress is a very real commodity. Long hair in the sixties meant you were not going along with the party line. It got ugly. Fear of recrimination from the vengeful faction of the society created a delayed stress syndrome not unlike the combat veterans from the war that the longhairs were protesting against. We are alive so we have stress, delayed stress. It comes up at inappropriate times. Or is it just being truthfully blunt. Anger, frustration, inferred insults, the list of infractions goes on. But the reaction gets to be pretty predictable. “Don’t tell him that! He’ll hit the ceiling!” In drumming we see this delayed stress in how the person hits the drum. There are rhythmic indicators. There are ways to rhythmically alter the reaction. I’ve seen it in myself and others. I still feel fear when I see a black and white police car. That is an imprint from nineteen sixtynine, when I was a long haired member of several extremely high profile bands, in the deep south. My intellect knows better but it allows the survival/belief system to react with adrenaline, based on a habituated event; namely getting harassed by southern police officers. Now, the mounted Santa Monica police bring their horses by to hear our sidewalk meditation drumming during the street fairs. Horses like slower, quieter grooves. They get used to hearing drums up close. They then go down and ride herd over the strange wild anarchy drumming on Venice beach. By drumming through the recollection of my original experience, I have come a long way in reacting not from fear but from just being present. Hitting a laid back downbeat groove; in the center of the djembe head, lightly, relaxed, getting it to sing, is the method that worked to heal me back into the present.

Celebrating the Hero drumming

Celebrating the Hero drumming is where we celebrate the hero in ourselves. The drum is an archetypal tool. It has always been used to herald the hero. When a person hits the drum with their bare hand, a resonance is set off that reverberates back through time and forward into the future. Tell yourself, “I am a Hero.” while hitting slow steady relaxed, peaceful grooves, downbeat on alternating hands in the deep center of the djembe. Feel the heartbeat that is the sound of the hero. It is you.

Dr. Lilly warned us

Dr. Lilly, the renowned dolphin communication research scientist, warned us in his last video interview from Maui that crystal consciousness had it’s own agenda and it was not compatible with human well being. He had an appointment with President Clinton to explain it to him. Bill almost had him put into Bethesda Naval Hospital for psychiatric evaluation, but on his return flight to Maui, air traffic controllers lost the ability to keep track of the flights. The computer system went down. It was what Dr. Lilly was warning us about. Dr. Carl Sagan began the SETI research by sending out a digital calling card to the universe describing our species as being carbon based on the third planet from the sun. We got a response in the form of a huge crop circle in the same graphic format as the original message, explaining that the species that had responded was a silicon based life form. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3mNZVKeU6M . Crystal. If you have any doubts that crystal consciousness is taking over human evolution just look at the people who are staring at their iphones while crossing a busy intersection. They are entranced, fast on the road to becoming slaves for the agenda of crystal consciousness. Payback for enslaving crystals in our computers? Silicon’s revenge.

Freedom

Fourth of July means freedom to Americans. Our belief systems are functioning off of many concepts that are not freedom enhancing. The drumming meditations are a way to release the restrictive concepts that limit our potential and growth. The special rhythms used in the HelmTone healing drum protocols are slow and nurturing. They unwind the tight hold these outmoded beliefs have over our behavior. It is miraculous to behold and even better to feel ourselves as new vistas open up, hope returns to our daily lives and we are free to make courageous choices. The proof is in the increase of drum meditation therapy sessions that I have been doing with people. Every day.

Elvis’ Third Cousin

Elvis’ third cousin was a folk singer in Coconut Grove and sang at the strip club in Cocoa Beach where all the astronauts hung out. Between the strippers with her clothes on; Five Hundred Miles, If I had a hammer, Joe Hill and other songs that were odd in that environment. She had great retorts when the guys in the audience would ask her to take her clothes off. “Do you have hemorrhoids?” she asked in her sweet southern lisp. “No” they would answer. “Just what I thought. A perfect asshole.” That was a few years earlier, now I was providing emotional support while she sang in a dinner club bar overlooking the harbor in Santa Barbara. It could have been Coconut Grove; the lights on the sailboats drifted by as she sung with a sweet Memphis lisp. She still had the old Grove magic around her. An old man in the shadows had fallen in love with her. I recognized his stentorian voice; John Carradine, the father of the Carradine acting dynasty. He waxed eloquent the whole night, telling stories, and asking Trish to marry him. He was drinking like a gentleman; hard and long. He admonished us, in the voice that had held such menace in so many horror movies, yet was full of such humanity: “If you’re going to drink, you HAVE to eat!” He grew more gracious as the night went on. Trish was doing well. During her breaks he would turn on the charm as she sat with a soda water like the mysterious Mona Lisa, an unreadable yet pleasant expression on her gorgeous face that reminded everyone subconsciously of her famous cousin even though they didn’t know it. “Pinza!” He gestured operatically with a knarled old claw of a hand, in a basso profundo, “Was scheduled to sing in Palermo and he was terrified. They were the most sophisticated opera audience, a great history of tenors. Pinza went for the high note and cracked on it. The audience immediately cheered and clapped so loudly, the director had to stop the music. “Bravo! Bravo! Again” they yelled. The conductor played the passage again. Pinza cracked again, his nerves were shot. He went down to the apron of the stage, asking them, “Why?” The crowd cheered and called out to him, “Bravo! Do it again! Do it till you get it right!” Trish was about done for the night. John was desperate, “David Niven! He joined the RAF at the height of his career, during the war. He was a courier, a leftenant. He delivered a communique to a ravishing major. She saw that it was David Niven, the famous silver screen idol. He asked her out to dinner. They had a night on the town in London during the Blitz. As they were ready to get undressed, David stopped her as she began taking off her Major’s uniform. “Could you please leave your uniform on?” He requested demurely. “Why on earth would I do that?” she asked him. “I always wanted to screw an officer.” We laughed. Trish thanked John for his stories. He told us his wife had died years earlier. He was grateful for Trish’s attendance. We drove back down into LA with a little of the old Hollywood pixie dust still sprinkled on us.

Twinkie Defense

Twinkie Defense was used to try to get Dan White acquitted of shooting Harvey Milk and Mayor Moscone in San Fran a few decades ago. It was inspired by new discoveries about food theories. Yeast in particular. Yeast is a parasite. It feeds off of the host until the host dies.  Yeast population gets higher and higher in our blood from sweets, alcohol, baked goods, candy, processed fast foods, the stuff that is being sold to us by corporate food suppliers primarily because it is cheep to make that food, ship it, and sell it, and also because it is addictive. Why is it addictive?  Because no matter how much will power the person has, their yeast population will force that person to go out and get the type of suger that the yeast wants. Once the yeast has gorged itself on the sugar, it secretes a waste that is a deadly neurotoxin. This neurotoxin makes people crazy, hense the Twinkie Defense. Our systems try to eliminate the neurotoxin as quickly as possible; through the feet with men and through the reproductuve organs in women. Men’s feet have thin skin between the toes so the toxin can be ejected there which is mistaken for athlete’s foot. It leads to diabetes when the yeast waste gets really bad and settles in the lower legs. The legs get amputated when a healthy diet would have kept the person whole. Killing yeast is now a big business. Probiotics. Kill the yeast. Not the mayor.

Shutting off the replay machine

Shutting off the replay machine is what the deep trance groove downbeat drumming is all about. Our survival system is a mechanism. It reacts to perceived threat. It is over stimulated and can’t shut itself off. The slowing rhythms soothe this paniced survival mechanism into turning itself off- for a little while.
